Getting Caturday started early. This is the only girl in the bunch, Cinder. Don't let the pic fool you, even though she looks angry, she's really a sweetheart. I think maybe we woke her up during her beauty sleep.

The blue are eyes are really starting to shine now.

Note: I accidentally said that Cinder was the kitten who passed away a few weeks ago. I was wrong. It was a little boy kitten, who officially didn't have a name yet.

OK, we're going to try this one more time. Please send your best wishes to Smokey. It may not quite look like it in the pic, but this girl is bulging at the sides and all signs point to yes, so I wouldn't be surprised if we had kittens before the night is done. She's what we refer to as a community cat. Various neighbors have been feeding her. And they say this is at least the third time she's been pregnant. This will definitely be her last.

@WarnerCrocker Sorry to tell you, but my experience was that the second one is even worse. I hope yours isn't.

I don't know how, but Lilac is still holding out on us. I can tell she's getting more uncomfortable by the day. And the kittens are really kicking around in there. Last night we thought we noticed a few minor contractions, but it was probably just her body reacting to all the kitten activity. We are on high alert. But as the saying goes, a watched pregnant cat never delivers.

He fell asleep in my lap like this last night. It was great for him but not so good for a middle-aged guy sitting directly on the floor, unable to move for about an hour because he's trapped under the cutest kitten in the world.

Everyone, please welcome this little orphan I picked up last night. His name is Mr. Moustache and he is just the friendliest little guy. He's about the same age as my three little torties but he is very underweight and has a slight upper respiratory infection. Once he's all better we will introduce him to the girls and they'll teach him how to be a proper kitty.
