I know yall wondering why it's taken so long to finish my hat. Well...I took it all apart and knit a smaller size, which I'm glad I did because in a slouchy hat a lot of weight is in the back and with the bigger size, the hat would have fallen off.
I'm doing a tubular bind off for the ribbing on my sweater. I've never done that before. It's fairly easy to do, but the problem is that it's a sewn bind off and the yarn tail has to be the circumference of the Earth times ten, because I have 252 stitches on the needles.. Still it does look nice.
I can't turn off the thinking that goes on in my head. Today it was Disney World. If there's deportations and food goes up, construction goes up and there's food shortages...and then the tariffs and everything else goes up..who is gonna be able to afford to go Disney World? Disney World is the largest employer in Florida. People from other countries might be able to afford it...if they're allowed to come over. Then I drifted to concerts...who's going to be able to afford those? Doesn't anyone think about these things? This regime and it's dictates are going to affect everyone. I don't get it.
One last thought before I close down for the night, it's a thought about super heroes. It's been a dystopian day for me..as far as my thoughts go. And yeah..it would be nice if we had a super hero to get us out of this jam. But what if we are the super hero? All of us that still care about our country? What if all of us are the super hero collectively, working in our town, state doing whatever we can do to help? So maybe it's us. Maybe we're the super hero together.
I don't like to post political stuff, but three people ahead of me at the post office were MAGATS and were saying that the unmentionable was a straight shooter and one lady was from Texas and said she couldn't wait to go back because Oregon was too blue for her. 🤮 I'll be glad when she's gone.
I'm a eclectic reader and love learning about everything. I'm naturally curious. I have an obsession with knitting and crochet and must knit and/or crochet everyday. I also love cooking. So most of my posts are about knitting, crochet and/or food. I try to follow a vegetarian diet, but I'm not always sucessful. However, I keep aiming in that direction. I also have a husband that is in early stages of Alzheimers and has Non-Hogdkins Lymphoma and I sometimes post about that. I'm mostly happy and have a weird sense of humor.
