His dementia is getting really bad.

It’s not bad with the skins on. It adds texture. I prefer it without the skins,but I’m not gonna spend an hour peeling apples. If the apples were bigger, I would have peeled them. The crust definitely got cooked.

I just found out about the time change. LOL 😂

OMG my yard is popular today! We had chickadees several times, Squeaky the jay and his friend, the hummingbird and now two squirrels. The only ones who haven’t shown up are the crows.

I drove over to my friend’s house yesterday, on a stormy windy freeway. She took me to Oregon Tea Traders on Tyinn street. You can buy loose leaf tea there by the ounce. I got some cafe mocha which is chicory, dandelion root and roasted cocoa. It has a nice coffee-like flavor and it’s not bitter. It’s really smooth. So nice to have a place to go to for tea and not have to order it.

The last few days, the husband has been asking to go with me on my errands. That hasn’t happened in a while. 🥰

A shark for a birthday present tomorrow. I didn’t get the belly patch centered right, so one eye is higher than the other. The husband says that not all animals are perfect, so I’m going to leave it.

I finally made a doctor’s appointment for my husband, although it’s a month away. He keeps saying his stomach hurts, but mostly around lunchtime. I think it could be because he was on a low dose antibiotic for a month and it might have screwed up his stomach. And he’s been taking TYLENOL because his back hurts. I’ve been feeding him a bland diet for two days to see if that helps. With his Alzheimer’s it’s hard to figure out what’s going on, because he forgets stuff. I’m frustrated because nothing I do helps. @caregivers

Speaking of pancakes. Yesterday I had to go to the dentist for a crown prep. I mentioned that if he smelled pancakes, it was because I had gotten some mix on my shirt. Then he proceeded to tell me his pancake recipe in detail while I was lying there with everything but the kitchen sink in my mouth and drowning at the same time. Not to mention that half my face looked like a melting clock from the anesthesia.

I got Derek Sarno’s cookbook today! I’m not infatuated with him or anything. ❤️❤️😘💋 He wrote it with his brother and some other guy. It’s a vegan cookbook with lots of tasty recipes that I want to try. I’m showing a picture from the inside because the cover feels a bit controversial for me.

Any time I hear an Eagles song, it always reminds me of the Big Lebowski, where the dude gets thrown out of the taxi because he hates the Eagles. 🤣

I used Mark Bittman’s basic muffin recipe because it’s perfect for me. Not too sweet or oily, although I do increase the sugar to 1/2 cup. Then I just sprinkled some cinnamon sugar on them after I filled the muffin tin. I also used oat milk and egg replacer. I did forget to put some vanilla in, because it’s not in his recipe and I haven’t made them for a while. Thanks for the inspiration. ❤️

Here’s my fence. It’s missing boards because they were falling off, so I took them off and took out the rusty nails. I decided to tack them back on, so I had to get some nails. I went to Jerry’s because they’re pretty good at helping you and I don’t know what the hell I’m doing. Well today wasn’t a good day for that, except the guy said I should get galvanized nails. But I didn’t know what size. So I got 3 1/2 inch ones and tried one out when I got home. It seems ok. It’s so weird to me to have to do almost everything now.

Common sorrel leaves are great for salads, puddings, soups or stews.

I'm facing a similiar situation. After my mother died, around 62 years old, my dad remarried. He has since passed away, but my step-mom and her family invite me, my brother and sister to their family gatherings, people I don't know. I went to a few, but I don't know these people and I feel uncomfortable around them because they hang together and I ususally hang out with my brother. I guess they feel like they should invite us. One of these events is coming up and I really don't want to go. I won't have a valid excuse either, just that I really don't want to go.
