This is a very good piece.

Note that it looks like this will affect Kindle ebook editions globally if Bloomsbury (or one of their imprints) have global rights.

e.g. (and IIRC) several Adrian Tchaikovsky books like Dogs of War, Bear Head, Cage of Souls and the Tyrant Philosophers series.

People might care to note that on this statement, the word "author" does not appear at all.

https://glasgow2024.org/hugo-awards/statement-22-july-2024/…

There are more Hugo categories than just the fiction ones...

EDIT: I also just noticed the statement says "...they have no evidence that *this person* is aware this effort was done on their apparent behalf."

"This person" (singular) might be inconsistent with a finalist work that has multiple names associated with it...

Well this is a load of absolute fucking shit:

archive.org copy in case that doesn't work:

Hint if it's not fucking obvious:

"In addition to the *two* winners, many other categories at this year's Hugo Awards also featured Chinese authors and artists."

Please be sure to read the con report linked from the first item in the new File 770 Pixel Scroll.

(and I'm not just saying that because I have a couple of minor mentions a fair way into this lengthy and eventful - massive understatement - report)
