🚨The Scottish Government held a secret meeting with Israeli diplomats to discuss so-called "mutual interests", despite the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

➡️40,000 people have now been killed by Israel in Gaza over the past 10 months.

79 years ago today a nuclear bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, killing 135,000 people, mostly civilians.

3 days later Nagasaki was bombed, killing a further 80,000.

An annual wealth tax on the super-rich would raise over £70 billion a year.

There's more than enough money in the UK, but so much of it is being hoarded by a tiny number.

We now have indisputable and independent evidence in the public domain that Trump's business dealings, including those in Scotland, were linked to fraud.

It's an idea whose time has come.

Private jets are up to 14 times more polluting than commercial planes per passenger, and 50 times more polluting than trains.

Yet every year 90,000 private jets take off in the UK.

We're in the middle of a climate emergency. The next UK Government needs to start acting like it.

That's why we're proposing a £1000 per head tax on private jet users to deter these climate wrecking flights and tackle their huge environmental impact.

Today, the Scottish Parliament passed Gillian Mackay MSP's Safe Access Zones (Scotland) bill.

It brings an end to the intimidation of women seeking abortions or health care experts by establishing 200-metre buffer zones around health care settings.

The next 5 years are crucial for our planet. There are no second chances, we need climate action at every level of government.

The Scottish Government has just announced a range of climate actions to meet our target of being net zero by 2045.

Including:

We’re developing a national integrated ticketing system for use across all modes of public transport!

This will allow for a single ticket to be used across all elements of a journey, making it easier to get around without a car.

We’re delivering 24,000 more public EV chargers! This will quadruple the number of charging points. ⚡️

We’ll also be introducing more support to purchase EVs - particularly for those in rural areas and low income groups.

Methane is 28 times more potent than carbon dioxide as a greenhouse gas, and methane from livestock contributes 50% of Scotland’s total agricultural emissions. 🐄

We’re piloting the use of methane suppressing feedstocks to get this number down.

We're delivering a routemap to a 20% reduction in car use. 🚗

This will include supporting councils to introduce demand management measures like congestion charging, which as well as cutting emissions can help us fund and build the public transport systems of the future.
