     We've made world leading progress on reducing electricity emissions over the last 15 years.

     But that alone isn’t enough. Transport, industry, buildings and agriculture all now contribute more to our emissions, and it's those sectors that today's announcement focuses on.

     The Mossmorran gas plant is responsible for nearly 10% of Scotland’s industrial emissions.

     We’ll be co-developing a Just Transition plan for the site with workers and communities, ensuring they're protected as we move towards a greener economy.

     We're delivering a routemap to a 20% reduction in car use. 🚗

     This will include supporting councils to introduce demand management measures like congestion charging, which as well as cutting emissions can help us fund and build the public transport systems of the future.

     Methane is 28 times more potent than carbon dioxide as a greenhouse gas, and methane from livestock contributes 50% of Scotland’s total agricultural emissions. 🐄

     We’re piloting the use of methane suppressing feedstocks to get this number down.

     We’re delivering 24,000 more public EV chargers! This will quadruple the number of charging points. ⚡️

     We’ll also be introducing more support to purchase EVs - particularly for those in rural areas and low income groups.

     We’re developing a national integrated ticketing system for use across all modes of public transport!

     This will allow for a single ticket to be used across all elements of a journey, making it easier to get around without a car.
