If Anthem just demoted D'Amore they would have avoided a lot of this. Make him EVP or GM and the other guy president. I think things would have been muuuuuuuch smoother.
@JelloBrains@GeekFTW to be honest, I can see why TNA want to keep him if they can. I kind of don't blame them. But from a talent management standpoint it's not a good indicator of how he feels about the state of things. It arguably looks worse if they let Josh leave because it sets a precedent that Anthem will let you leave. But you can't treat people like assets on a spreadsheet.
@GeekFTW maybe Josh would have still wanted to look around even with D'Amore at the helm, but the fact that he wanted to look is not a good look for Anthem.
@GeekFTW hold up. The title says that TNA is extending the contract, but the graphic says he resigned. Which is it? Normally it doesn't matter because you probably want to stay at your wrestling promotion, but in this case I wonder if this is Anthem keeping Josh Alexander on lock? Idk, I'm just sus about everything they do now, lol.
@GeekFTW NGL, it's a clever way to mess with fans and drum up hype to something. I imagine it's something at Impact or No Surrender only because I would be surprised for them to have a public show of their displeasure with Anthem.
In my heart I want it to mean that Scott D'Amore return incoming lol
If Tony Khan doesn't start acting on feedback from his roster and the fans, I can see his reputation declining in a couple of years. Even if AEW has ups and downs, I think that observers haven't seen a difference in how AEW does business since All In. As feedback and pressure from allies increases, does Tony Khan listen or does he turn on people in his insecurity? This is not an inevitable outcome by any means, and I think if anything it would be a result of slow changes in interactions.
@BeAware I think he's a good pick for the world title, but I think Drew edges him out because of his evolving character work. I would like to see both with the belt at some point.
I know that the spotlight is not on LA Knight right now, but man does he remind you why he's a megastar every time he's on screen. After WrestleMania I'll be excited for him to win a championship.
I'm here to talk about wrestling. Will post about #WWE, #AEW, #WWENXT, and even other promotions like #TNA or #NWA sometimes. My goal is to manifest the wrestling Mastodon community I want to see in the world.Fair warning: I do live posting when I watch shows as they air in the US.Digivoled from @JackElephant.
