@MediaActivist That's a real shame because I was deliberately avoiding engaging in the form of an argument, and was just trying to answer the question they asked about what de-centralised political organisation might look like. I recognise how difficult it is for people to engage in a conversation about de-centralisation (or anarchism for that matter) without any frame of reference. They seemed like a thoughtful person so I was hoping they'd be interested in the answer.Maybe they're still fresh from Twitter.

Storytellers who imagine decentralised possibilities do not have large platforms on which to paint these possibilities because the power to create cultural platforms comes from that mass centralisation of power. We gotta decentralise culture.

It's also just a really good way of moving large files without relying on cloud hosting. I'm basically just copy&pasting a following instructions but it makes me feel like a hacker genius.

It's pretty great but my usb c port is now too worn for data transfer so I don't think I can actually upgrade (I think there is an inbuilt means of upgrade but it doesn't work)

Jugular Malloy (jugularmalloy@kolektiva.social)'s status on Friday, 13-Oct-2023 22:11:45 JST Jugular Malloy @MediaActivist Hey sorry I never replied to this I tend to be very flighty with social media. I agree! And that makes a lot of sense: padding it out. One good thing we do in the UK is mini-serieses that feel like serialised films. But I thought it was pretty lazy in its treatment of the subject matter which is fascinating and important. I see this a lot when the subject matter is present day radical politics. Felt the same about the Riot in Orange is the New Black. Suddenly an incredibly sharp show got stupid and silly.
