Interesting. The racist I blocked day one of being on mastodon is not middle-aged or older, like I'd assumed by his attempt to sealion me. He's loaded a video on a new Aus Instance (he's moved at least 3 times in 2 weeks). Looks younger enough to still gets carded at the bottlo. Blocked him a third time :)
Follow this guppe group I set up > @indigenousauthors and lets network, share, and lift each other up.
How? Enter @ IndigenousAuthor@a.gup.pe in your search box (without that gap), follow the group, and posts will appear in your Home Feed. You can also set notifications.
To use this group to boost your posts, just tag it.
Note: If you are not Indigenous, then feel free to share your favourite works authored by Indigenous writers or poets, and book illustrators. Please do not use this @ to boost posts about non Indigenous authors or academics. This is not a space for centring whiteness
Guppes are non-moderated decentralized fediverse social groups. They don't follow, they just auto-boost.
To boost your relevant posts, add @IndigenousAuthors (use the full address @ indigenousauthors@a.gup.pe or click on it when it appears as a suggestion)
I've created it so Indigenous / Aboriginal / Pasifika / First Nations and other First Peoples can promote their books and themselves. And to network, talk about their writing process, get support from other Indigenous writers, or more.
Respectfully, I ask non-Indigenous people to consider how, why and when they use this @ to boost their toots.
If you aren't Indigenous, I'd suggest using it to share and promote your favourite Indigenous-authored books.
And not for sharing books about Indigenous peoples, cultures, knowledges, issues, politics etc written by non-Indigenous authors.
Thanks, and enjoy
(PS apologies for lower case I in Indigenous, and lack of #CamelCase - Guppe coding changed how I wrote it. Using Camel Case in your toots should work. And in so-called Australia, we capitalise Indigenous and Aboriginal)
