@Antiqueight Since they are US books, I tend to post them after 9AM pacific time (aka 5pm Ireland time). None of it is automated, except for the book picking part, so there's no otherwise-set time. Also check on bsky if you can.
Cached US Kindle giveaway: 10 copies of Intellivore (Star Trek: The Next Generation Book 45), by @dianeduane. Confession time: I *have* a copy, but I haven't *read* it yet. I am sooooooooooooooooooooo far behind. However, I feel absolutely no compunction about recommending it, words-unseen, because of the author's proven track record.
As usual, feel free to claim one, or tell other people about the giveaway, or both. And if you like it, tell the author! Leave a review! Buy more books!
Cached US Kindle giveaway: 6 copies of The Archive Undying (The Downworld Sequence Book 1) by @emmacandon which I haven't read yet, but am very excited to do so -- I've heard nothing but good stuff about it, and the description makes it sound like exactly my thing. Well, one of my things.
Anyway! Feel free to claim one, or tell other people about the giveaway, or both! And if you like it, please talk about it and/or review it!
Cached US Kindle giveaway: 10 copies of @patricksamphire's Shadow of a Dead God (Mennik Thorn Book 1) which I think I just gave out, since I bought this batch of 20 in late Nov, and there are 10 left. Anyway! I have it but OF COURSE I haven't read it yet. Blast it. I need to get m TBR organized.
As always, feel free to claim one, or tell other people about the giveaway, or both! And if you like it, please talk about and/or review it?
On this, the last day of the year, I am going to PLEAD and BEG for some attention to books that normally just won't get it. In particular, there are two series that I think would make *absolutely fucking awesome* nominees for Best Series. I can't push them too hard; I tried that, a few years ago, and was completely heartbroken that none of them made the shortlist. (One was, I think, maybe 10 nominations away from it.)
I'm going to give out some books here, but please...
join worldcon / wsfs and nominate them if you like them. I can't enforce this. But both these series are near and dear to my heart, and both are self-published, and neither of them will get much attention unless people talk about them and nominate them. So please, please, please, please, please.
The series is hard magical SF politics. That is, there's a nigh-magical aspect to it, and everything else falls out from that in a logical and consistent fashion. And it's politics because that's what it's *really* about -- with each book largely having a detective framing story.
I love the author and I love these books. I've given out more copies of this author's books than any other author. And I've given out *lots* of books. So that's impressive.
Cached US Kindle giveaway: 10 copies of THIEVES' WORLD, created by Robert Lynn Asprin. I enjoyed this when I read it, and recommend it, although wow this is old -- I wasn't even in high school when it came out. I may not have been in jr high.
I'm also still sick, and really down from last week's tragic event, so I don't have a lot of energy to push this. Please don't take this as a mark against the book -- it's got some *great* stories in it.
Weirdly, *none* of these have been claimed! This is a tragedy -- this is a very good book, and a great series. The first book has a very good introduction to a superhero team, disguised as a first week in a new high school. (The *best* such introduction is in The Indestructibles, by @matthewphillion, where the chapter "The Dancer" is ... good. But this book is *very* good!)
Please, claim a copy! Or please tell other people about the giveaway! Share some SUPERHERO NOVEL JOY! #KindleBookGiveaway
@michaelcbailey This is my favorite superhero prose series, and it just happens to be YA. I have raved about it *lots*,and I will rave about it more, just not right now because I am in a meeting. so here are 5 US Kindle copies of Issue One: Secret Origins, to get you started.
Last (I think) cached US Kindle giveaway of the night: 10 copies of Emily Noon's Aurora's Angel, about which I know nothing. Apparently I might like "slow burn" romances though, so I'm hopeful there. If you read it, please let me know what you think!
As always, feel free to claim one, or to tell other people about the giveaway, or both! And if you like it, talk about it! And/or review it! You could even give it as gifts!
Cached US Kindle giveaway: 10 copies of Patricia C. Wrede's Calling on Dragons (Enchanted Forest Chronicles Book 3), which is - as you might guess -- is the third book in that series. Or the 4th, if you go by publication date. It ties up various threads and sets up the first/last book, Talking to Dragons. Also it has a blue floating donkey and a lot of cats. I like it.
Feel free to claim one, or tell other people about it, or both.
