@Maltheus I wouldn't say yes to that contract, but to my way of thinking you created that wee little avatar of yourself on the screen, given it a name you liked, that shitty little free to play mobile game has a tiny idealized symbol of you in it and it's asking for that little voodoo doll's soul.
Shoulda just paid for the micro transactions, mate. That only feels soulless.
I guess I kind of feel the same way about TikTok and television, I just don't partake much. I was a monster YouTube enthusiast (addict lol) but I am trying to break the habit.
My real "internet experience" came after myspace was already in decline really. I knew some shock sites and some forums before that. I wasn't there for usenet, like I know what it is but I didn't see eternal september. IRC was cool for a while but my favorite thing, what I miss the most, were the old dedicated online MMO's, like text based strategy games and stuff. Those were cool.
@p@SuperSnekFriend@micropenis They should have sent him a snail mail letter or something, it would have been funny to get something like that. Your mailman might just change routes lol
Thank you Lonnie Childs! I used to inject ellis dees and marijuana joints and self-rape often but with the help of God and Lonnie Childs I am free of self-rape.
@p@fristi@methyltheobromine If you bought Zoomtext you could order a Zoomtext keyboard with special keys mapped to Zoomtext functions for you, the keys were yellow and that one is a reasonable likeness. :)
A knife made from gold won't hold an edge for long. A hammer made of gold will bend. A gun made of gold will explode (except in Goldeneye) why should this useless metal rule men's lives?
Why does it's scarcity matter? Uranium is scarce but I can say with honesty I'd rather not have any.
I am not being argumentative or disingenuous. I just think it's silly almost to the point of insanity.
@p@fristi@methyltheobromine I don't know. It's something I've thought about ever since I saw it. Never forgot about it, so much that the keyboard immediately triggered the memory lol.
@11112011 Paper currency is bad, too. It is a dishonest promissory note. Fiat. In a phrase, toilet paper.
When men allowed bankers to hold things of value and make a promise to let you buy things dependent on those valuables' fluctuating value it was already too late.
@11112011 Why do you need someone to hold the gold or make paper currency in the first place?
Why is gold the standard, anyhow? What power does gold have? What makes gold innately valuable in a way that copper or iron are not innately valuable? Because it twinkles on Polly Pinkpantaloon's finger so pretty in the starlight? Why gold?
I had a Toshiba Portege M200, I had upgraded the RAM and put a fast HDD in it. It was of that weird time period when a laptop wanted to be a tablet wanted to be a laptop and it was odd. Stylus touchscreen, transformer spin around flip down to become a tablet screen. Core2Duo. I adored the little thing.
I do not remember at all what became of it, I was younger and you always think the next computer will be better, but nothing has ever really compared. Thinkpad T400 came close in my heart but just never usurped the top spot.
Someday I will buy one, get frustrated that it isn't as cool as I remember and put it on a shelf forever, but not just yet. to1.jpg
