Happy Birthday to Mister Rogers, born March 20, 1928. Fred Rogers started every show by putting on a hand-knit cardigan. Who knit them? His mother! “That’s one of the ways she says she loves somebody. … When I put on one of these sweaters, it helps me think about my mother. I guess that’s the best thing about things. They remind you of people.” A great testament to the power of #knitting https://www.remindmagazine.com/article/11027/mister-rogers-neighborhood-fred-rogers-sweaters-smithsonian/

In the #KansasCity metro, a #transgender teen, Tristan Young, 17, was voted 2023 homecoming queen at Oak Park High School by her classmates! This is really wonderful news. Unfortunately, the hate followed which is the focus of this article, but, still, it's just wonderful to read about her and her classmates. It gives me hope.
