I am wondering if I can aggregate at least 10 awesome people (trustees) who will be willing to form an AWESOME FEDIVERSE chapter of the Awesome Foundation.

Trustees chip in money each month (usually $100 or the local equivalent) and they decide the winner of each grant.

That's the average cost of investigating, handling and documenting a moderation action on Newsie.

Data is based on 368 reportsI made on Newsie.social since we launched.

It takes on average 12 minutes to handle a report.

Only about 50% of the reports are valid. Most others are what we call "preferential" meaning they didn't violate our rules, but somebody felt offended enough to report.

VerifiedJournalist.org showcases genuine journalists on Mastodon and other fediverse platforms who are sharing news worldwide.

Profiles provide current public information on individuals or organizations producing news.

Pages are updated automatically, manually by experts, or directly by the profile owner.

There comes a time in software development that you just need to take the leap.

That time is coming for the #Journalist and #Journalism finder for Mastodon today.

In the next couple of hours I'll be sending a DM to those journalists on the seed list inviting them to CLAIM their listing, and make sure the info is up to date and correct.

Thanks again to @tchambers and the Journalist List for that seed data.

Our dev team is finishing the final enhancements and fix the last bugs in the #JournalistFinder for #Mastodon in the coming days.

Though it took twice as long to complete, we are proud to have created a versatile tool that simplifies content discovery and verification.
