@i @tk @lain @piggo @sun found two issues benchmarking on my phone

1) pako (compression library we're using) takes 1 whole second to decompress the cache while it takes 65ms on desktop. I'm gonna try just not compressing and storing 5mb cache as is since we're using IndexedDB which doesn't have size restrictions.

2) it seems that cache isn't actually generated until theme is FULLY applied so rapidly refreshing always compiles the theme. Also will fix.

@i @tk @lain @piggo @sun basically cache is that precompiled CSS but it currently needs to be compiled on user side. I'm afraid we won't get admin pre-compilation until we get fe-specific-settings-in-fe-admin-dashboard, which would happen much later, after config refactor.

@sun can I ask you to keep both versions of FE? Just to see how people ACTUALLY react to it

First of all, loading screen shouldn't take too long every time, only the first time user opens the page. In fact cache isn't even invalidated afterwards unless we change something in the theme engine. When cache is done splashscreen takes less than a second. If it's too slow we can speed it up. :afloofLoad:

Second, the "selfish" bit I mentioned is a comment on "i will never hear the end of it", i have to deal with my users too, but maybe they are too complacent with whatever I feed them and/or don't report it. :floofMug:

Third, why didn't you tell me about this sooner? Don't you hate it when people nonchalantly deliver you important news with considerable delay? :floofAngry:

Fourth - yes it is selfish for FE to take time to complie themes, but themes is one of the reasons people like pleromafe (look at every instance ever that have them customized, even SP[WC] minions theme, and Themes2 was getting very hard to maintain and very limited and hard to work with from user side. Nobody stopped me, and I wish they did, it fucking sucks working almost alone. :floofCry:

Lastly, should we just revert themes 3 entirely? I can take that mental damage, don't worry :floofLol: (do worry :floofNervous:)
