@DanFox Can confirm this is true, strictly speaking, however in the context of Service Canada they are using front-line services from ESDC. The same staff processing passports also deal with SINs, OAS, CPP, EI, Job Bank, training programs etc.

CBC was on a tear yesterday, with a whole slew of stories about Medicare showing a system in collapse.
One thing I didn't see a story about was lobbying, corruption and personal profit motives driving provincial premieres.
Everything that's wrong with our healthcare system goes back to capitalism. Every solution put forward by provincial governments has been more capitalism, so they can personally profit and soft-land on a private board of directors somewhere.

I made it so, dammit, I'm sharing. This is what comes to mind whenever I read the media's take on Trump. Always doing that deep analysis, asking those tough questions. Applies equally to coverage of Poilievre here too.
And yes, I know the Simpsons did an actual Trump character, but I feel Mr. Burns actually looks more like him.

Remember when we thought we'd be able to control COVID and things were looking good but then somehow we collectively just all gave up so now it's something that's pretty much permanently altered our way of life and will continue to be a thing even off into future generations?
I guess what I'm saying is I'm getting the same vibes off the carbon debate. It's like world leaders all got together and just collectively decided to take the 'climate apocalypse' option.

The reasoning is sound. When the last dice are thrown the ones who have amassed the most wealth do have the best odds of survival. They'll be the ones with the power to secure food, clean water and private militias. If they can delay it enough maybe they'd have all puttered off to Mars by then.
I can't help but think this is how the minds of those at COP28 work. Short-sighted grifters standing around trying to maximize their share of the remaining crumbs before sticking us with the bill.

We can't have nice things and service animals are no exception.

I can understand the perspective of ride share drivers who will have to spend an hour picking fur off their seats. This Great Dane may well be a real, trained and certified working dog, but most they see in a day aren't.
Putting a cheap vest on your dog doesn't make it a service animal. So many people abuse this and it makes life harder for people who actually need them.

@NeonPurpleStar Agreed, and if I'm looking for information I generally hate reading also, so make it point form.
