Sure. You have three choices at scale on the crusty, ridiculous, and stupid protocols of the Fediverse:

1. Watch your servers melt because the protocols are indefensible;
2. Spend all your money on more servers and bandwidth that no one uses; or
3. Turn federation off.

98% of Gab was insular at the time. It wasn’t worth spending another dollar on federation. So we turned it off.

That was done on purpose, and I’d do it again if all things were equal. Federation added nothing but cost to Gab because no customer was using it, it was under constant attack depriving other tasks of attention, and I’m a ruthless bastard who doesn’t care at all about how loudly the people on the fediverse cry about my decisions.

Reality: I was paid by the people using that website to build them a website they could use. They don’t care about the Fediverse, and federation was depriving them of performance and the development of the features they did want.

So, we turned off federation, watched the people of the fediverse have a meltdown because that’s what they do best, and gave our customers what they wanted: More racism, and fewer troons/furries.

I’d rather kill everyone in the room, then building, than discuss cryptocurrency. When people mention it, I have a hard time not beheading them where they stand.

When people tell me it’s the future, or a solution to a problem, I poison their food in the break room refrigerator.

Jaden on Poast is a beautiful development. Remember when I said the wave is coming? I said that because Gab expired over a year ago. You are there now. It has rotted and will soon (grand scheme, not literally tomorrow) be gone. Give it six more months. Watch.

There is no better time to start an instance or find one you love and support the crap out of it. I literally mean contribute cash, and kick whatever you think are ‘shitty people’ from your experience(s).

Those who do this right now have bright futures in providing wonderful services and experiences for your community members.

Find a fediverse community. Join it, give it a go, and support the communities you love. That’s how to win. It’s never been easier to get started.

I’m being asked if StopSemitism.org is real or a parody/satire, and it’s going to be real. It will be a real database of reported semitisms.

You will be able to specify the date, time, location, attach photos, provide a title, summary, and description of the semitism. The semitisms will be searchable, and will be reported as a feed or “timeline” on the home page.

Absolutely real. Absolutely happening. StopSemitism.org will exist, and is not satire or a parody. It’s function is exposing jewish behavior, corruption, and more.
