I always get confused when people frame #gardening as wholesome and nurturing, instead of the violent, survivalist species-warfare that it actually is.

Think nature is adorable? Try harvesting squash or cucumbers with your bare hands and no tools.

Instead of stepping over the missing stair, I'd rather take out the rotten part and build a new, supportive, welcoming one in its place 💛

Well, I guess I've made it in #OpenSource when twice in the same day I've received unexpected but much appreciated recognition for my work, as well as having my incentives and motivations simultaneously lambasted and questioned.

I get why some people are disappointed about the commercialization of #Bluey into a merchandise powerhouse.

AND as a #parent who spent the last 5 years seeing requests for non-existent toys and books for Octonauts, Owl House, and Gravity Falls, it's a freaking relief to have something to purchase.

Perfectly normal question from colleague/developer: "How does anyone package and share #AI models?"

Me, at my most chaotic evil 😈: "Have you heard the good word about #Python pickle?" 🥒

When someone asks about my 5-10 year professional plan, I can only think about how many winters and summers I have left before my kids leave home.

Leaving work for night skiing and burritos is really feeling way more important than pretty much anything else these days.

When it's warmed up, too heavy, and piled up so that it takes 10x longer than it would have if you had done it this morning.

@phiofx I still remember the first time I walked through the proof for how irrational numbers are uncountable. As someone in a field obsessed with discretization and countability, I love that some numbers are utterly defiant.

Watching a documentary about infinity last night, my partner and I discovered some fascinating, fundamental differences in how we both see the universe.

His physics-based approach on what is measurable and eventual can be absolutely terrifying tbh.

My mathematics brain expands "what is possible beyond what is countable". I leave room for the infinities between infinities, seeing them as hope and future discoveries.
