Trying to set up an Apple ID so I can install an app on an Apple TV. Ye gods, this is painful. My domain seems to have triggered something and is blocked. Talking to an agent and the domain block is removed, but it still won't let me create an account. Ah, but the account was created and the error message was given in error. Then although I can log into the account on a PC, AppleTV still says "No". I thought Apple had this user interface thing down pat? Clearly not.

@geerlingguy Wow. Now that's a response and a half. I'd have put money on no reply or a "we can do what we want" comment. But this. Wow again. Almost makes me want to go and buy something from them! Just a shame I'm surprised by a company doing the right thing.
This morning's 'WTF?' moment - I've just been asked by a solicitor to provide my name, DOB, NI number, address, telephone numbers, bank account details (name, sort code and number) and facsimile of my signature ... BY PLAIN TEXT EMAIL.
Solicitor has confirmed that they believe plain text e-mail is secure and that they have no other secure channel for communication. They did suggest that I fax them. Good grief.
So The Sunday Times are reporting that universities are offering much lower grades for admittance to foreign students willing to pay ยฃยฃยฃยฃs than they are to UK students. Well now, who'd have thought that turning universities into businesses would see them start to behave like... businesses?
