What would you say is needed most? Money?

@feditips Is there a way to share a list of people (#mastodon handles) publically, ideally in a way that others can follow that list, i.e. all users in that list? I‘d like to curate a list of „Well known people from the #dotnet community in the fediverse“.

@feditips I don't see how I can have a (one) less random local timeline if my interests are diverse. Even if I would join many small but focused instances, I will have a zoo of many local isolated timelines (and a zoo of different accounts).

@feditips Yes, that what I was trying to get at.

The way to get a diverse unified "inbox" that matches my interests is through curating an interesting follows list (and maybe hashtags).

But there is no good way to make the local or even federated timeline feature useful in any way if you have many diverse interests.

I know things also work when people are on other servers but one advice I got is to choose a server based on where my peers are because they will be closer or something. Was that wrong?

Could it be that both the local timeline as well as the federated timeline are utterly useless features in #mastodon ? At least on big or generic instances like mastodon.social I have absolutely no clue how it can be useful in any way.

@feditips What is a list in #mastodon? What can I do with it? Can others see these list or can I share them? What does „show replies to any followed user“ mean?
