As I'm seeing quite a number of people in my timeline currently looking for a new #eReader due to Amazon continuing to enshittify, maybe this two year old blog post of mine about my Boox Nova 3 Color running Android is helpful: https://foosel.net/blog/2023-01-27-review-onyx-boox-nova-3-color/
Y'all, if you help testing a release candidate of a piece of open source software, it really helps if you actually open bug reports for any bugs you find in the issue tracker, especially if that is requested by the project, instead of commenting about found problems all over the place *apart* from in a proper bug report 😭
Today I tackled the hallway shelf and the built-in closet. Filled up several garbage bags once more. Ouch, my back 😅
I also decided to throw out my first 3d printer that was still stored in the closet, as much as it saddens me. It's no longer working & it's taking up too much space for that. But I'll keep the front plate & Pi 😊
No before pictures for you bw - too embarrassing 😬
Also, in case you are wondering about the two chairs...
Those are two out of the four chairs that belong to my dinner table. The other two are on one long side of the table, while the other lomg side is taken up by an office chair as that is the spot my partner uses when working from home office from my place.
The two chairs are easier to store in the hallway than the office chair, so this is the default 😅
The eye cooperated thanks to eye drops and so now the old Ultimaker is fully dismantled and everything I could no longer see any use for is in the bin or the box of electronics to get to recycling.
*Sigh* End of an era 😕 The 3d printer that literally changed my life.
But I kept the front plate, Arduino Mega & shield, Pi1 & SD and the hobbed gear and have ordered a presentation frame that will fit all of that to be mounted in my office 😊
Layout will probably be something like the picture.
I've now mounted the front plate and electronics of my first 3d printer into a frame and given it a place of honour in my office. The printer with which everything OctoPrint started. The printer that literally changed my life.
I think that's a good way to keep it in memory without it taking up too much space.
For the record, rug pulls like this one are precisely the reason why I wish people would finally stop buying into the Bambulab hype and instead get a 3d printer from a company that doesn't force their cloud down their throat together with their proprietary hardware.
My car is turning 25 years old next year, still has a tape deck and is missing pretty much all features that you might expect from cars these days - but thanks to @bagder it now has curl on board regardless 😁
@bagder This kind of crap makes me so incredibly angry that I cannot even put it into words.
The shitty bug reports with missing information and problem descriptions along the lines of "it broken, plz fix, kthxbai" we maintainers often get are bad enough as is, as are the entitled assholes. But no, now we get put through a new circle of hell thanks to this LLM bullshit abused by script kiddies and trolls. This crap needs to die in a fire, and yesterday.
I have been fighting with my audio setup ever since I switched back to Linux over a year ago. No matter what I did, the sound from my Blue Yeti always sucked one way or the other. So many OctoPrint on Air quality issues due to that 😕
Decided enough is enough and did my first Thomann order ever. Now I have a Shure MV7+ connected via XLR to a Vocaster Two and holy cow, it's like night and day! 🤯 Actually looking forward to the next recording session now 😄
