If someone I follow posts a thread, I want to see only the *first* post in that thread on my timeline, but not the rest. If the first post catches my interest, I'll click through to view the whole thread.
My problem is that when someone posts a large thread, it completely overwhelms my timeline. See the example below:

I want the top level post to show up, I just don't need to see the entire thread in my main timeline!
Specifically:
Someone I follow posts a cool thread.
Then I refresh my feed, and the very last post of the thread is at the top.
As I scroll down, I see Every. Single. Child. Post. In. That. Thread.
Can I just see the top level post **only?**
