I was 6 when my dad bought the first Tomb Raider game, for the Saturn. And I remember seeing her in the covers of most magazines, and that 3D render of Duke and Lara because they were badass and people shipped them together. And they even bought the actress who made one of the first movies to a TV show called "DOF 6", which was about videogames.
She IS iconic, no doubts about it. But I don't think the spot of "most iconic" is for her, because while she is iconic there are other characters that even served as a mascot back in the days, and are more well known and more iconic of their eras.
For me, Lara would rank 6 or 7, together with Crash Bandicoot. -

(This list is 7 years old btw, you can tell because all the Baldur's Gate 3 characters on it, totally not sponsored in any way).
Because I think a much better question would be, what would be the list of most iconic characters of all time? And I believe Mario, Sonic, Pikachu, Cloud, and maaaaybe Steve (though Steve is a player model, not a character) would be the first in that order. Lara Croft? I mean, I love Tomb Raider and I played most of the games in the series (even some of the most recent ones), but I don't think she's that popular. -

Mostly from Latin America (Ecuador, Puerto Rican, Peruvians...) and also from China.
I don't know if this is a special case, like if the Spanish government has some kind of treaty with those countries, but I don't think so. Since I'm not an outsider I'm not well informed on the requisites and conditions, but I know that providing that you don't have any criminal records and that you have your papers in order, you shouldn't have much problem. -

I can't help you with any of that, you'd be on your own, but Spain is quite liberal, despite having too many conservative people in it. The only issue is that you might have to avoid the main cities like Madrid or Barcelona as there is a lot of people and prices here are prohibitive. You'd have to move somewhere more modest.
If you can drive and you're willing to live in a low population area, there is a lot of villages that offer very cheap housing and even jobs. Though these jobs are not tech related, of course.
I mean, it's an option...
And if you have a passport and papers in order, I don't think it's going to be hard for any of you to get in, assuming you can find proper housing and a job. -

That happen here in Spain, a lot of times.
And that person might or might not share your point of view. And remember, money is power. You can buy a regulator. In the end, its a cat and mouse situation. -

You make more rules but people always finds a way around them, and then at some point these regulations will backfire at you because they are making things more difficult for the people who wants to play by the rules while cheaters are having it easier.

I said, and I quote myself, "They teach you its possible to manipulate the market but not how to do it", so you explain to me what exactly is that thing I'm not understanding when you are saying exactly what I'm saying. Thry teach you its possible to "cheat" because everyone knows that, but not how to do it because as usual, thats something you have to learn on your own.
As Im saying, they teach you the rules of the game and how to play it. Not how to be a winner. -

【Ξnigmatico】:misskey: (enigmatico@mk.absturztau.be)'s status on Wednesday, 06-Nov-2024 17:56:54 JST 【Ξnigmatico】:misskey: It doesnt fucking matter!
Neither Trump nor Kamala give a shit about the LGTBIQ+ people, minorities, etc. Sure, Trump is an ultraconservative neoliberal rich-ass piece of trash who probably wants to bring America back to the cold-war era, during the 50s and the 60s, with the traditional family and the apartheid.
But Kamala doesnt give a shit about anyone either. She only pretends to support these communities to gain their favor in the elections. Her only goal was power and money, just like Trump. What has Biden done for the LGTBIQ+ people? Nothing, or barely anything of value. Its all just propaganda, the liberals arent that liberal.
Stop pretending like its the end of the world because one or the other gets to be the president. The downfall of America begun well over a decade ago, way before Trump. And the real gobernment is the large companies and corporations in the country.
As for the rights of the LGTBIQ+, even if Kamala won, US citizens in this group still have well over a 50% of the population of America against them. I dont think an election will convince them of supporting them. Specially when social media is radicalizing them.
The real enemy is all the people who support these clowns and the corporations and companies, and different actors who back them up. And that didnt change (it never will).
As for why Kamala lost, its because her message was weak. Her campaign was generic and boring. Maybe because she didnt have the time to prepare anything better. The US is facing some serious problems and her campaign didnt really address those issues.
Whats going to be the future from now on? I dont have a crystal ball, but I imagine that aside of some terrible social politics and a lack of support for Ukraine, there isnt going to be much change. People there is going to work more, work harder, and earn less money for it, while their country is going to keep facing the same issues because nobody gives a shit. Thats my prediction. -
