For my internship in the emergency dept and behavioral health unit, I still have 452 hours left to complete my masters degree in social work. I am interning 40 hours a week. Weekly, I work 34 hours at the hospital in the emergency department, completing my MSW internship, in addition to my per diem position. 

When my per diem job is cancelled, I make $0.

My fundraiser may look consistent, but much goes to late fees and back rent. I’m behind on everything.

I continue to push, they push right back. I’m sorry for the many posts. Today is just one of those days where I feel like the profession in which I’m in is so undervalued. This internship is part of the graduate program and mandatory to graduate. We aren’t offered any stipends like other programs either. Unpaid internships in 2024 shouldn’t still be a thing.

It’s always interesting to me when I hear good things about a novel, but negative things about the author. Should an authors’ viewpoints influence whether or not a person should read their published material? For me, 9/10, yes, but other times, I’m unsure. Food for thought
