It would appear from Adam's list that the two most followed Mastodon profiles are Eugen Rochko, the developer of Mastodon (@Gargron) and Star Trek actor George Takei (@georgetakei), both with over 200,000 followers.

I also want to stress that I don't believe, in *ANY* way, shape, or form, we should repeat the mistakes of the birdsite, in thinking that the more followers a person has, the more importance, influence, or "clout" they have! But I am a stats nerd, so I found this interesting! ?

I find it amusing that two of the 3,116 people whom I follow on Mastodon are God and Satan. ? Gotta cover all the bases! ?

Satan followed me back, but God hasn't...should I be worried? ?

Second Life, the pioneering virtual world founded in 2003 and still going strong at the ripe old age of 19 with 900,000 active users, is now on Mastodon! I am now following approximately 2,500 people, of whom 1,369 are following me back. As always, I will endeavour to leverage my growing social graph by amplifying posts which I feel deserve a wider audience.

@heidilifeldman Boosting this so more people can read this. I deactivated my account when Elon Musk sent out that horrible letter laying off half his staff, but I'd be interested in hearing arguments for keeping the damn thing.
