When my friend Refaat was murdered, I was inconsolable.
But he left a will - he said we should fly kites, and make sure the children in Gaza could see them.

So that's what I did today. I’d never flown a kite before, but now that I have - I'm hooked. And every kite I fly is for Refaat, and the children of Gaza.

In Saturday night’s press conference, Netanyahu invoked a biblical command to commit genocide - quoting a passage about the Amalekites.

It is taught to all schoolchildren in Israel, around fifth or sixth grade, with an emphasis on the penalty paid by king Saul for sparing the life of the Amalekite king: he died on a battlefield.
That is part of the curriculum. Invoking it is not a dog whistle.

@danhon you'd think all those years of Holocaust studies (I went through the Israeli school system, the subject is covered in full) would have driven home that particular point.
