@binarydigit @capjamesg Thank you for replying to this, I had meant to and then forgot about it and it disappeared into the timeline ether 💨
Yes, I too would be interested!

@bjhess hey, sorry to ping you here, I hope it's okay, I'm considering signing up for a Letterbird account and may end up doing a subscription, but I'm curious about the email used when signing up: it says it will be the one used for the contact form, but I'm wondering if they can be different? is that an option, so that the contact goes to a different address (even if just a mask) than the one attached to the account?
@bjhess Thanks for the reply. So multiple contact forms => multiple accounts?
☕ I'm on my fourth cup of coffee today.
@binarydigit I'll get it up ASAP!
@binarydigit Sure, what "name" or social and URL?
My apologies to anyone who signed up for #WeblogPoMo while I slept and have yet to show up on the Participators list!
There was an unplanned snafu with the form and I didn't get the additional people added, I'm so sorry!
If you would still like to be added, you can message me here, or if you are an omg.lol member and on discourse.lol add your info to the WeblogPoMo post, or find me in the omg.lol Discord.
@zachleat @dries Quite a spate of 'CMS' opinions in the past week and they've been interesting to read. I wonder what prompted this, other than "one person wrote one, so others followed by writing their own."
I worked in Drupal for nearly 15 years so this is great to read Dries' take. Haven't read anything of his in a while. Thanks for sharing.
@binarydigit haha yeah that's actually the page it was crawling on! I think I'm past the cruft now, got my photo posted and I'm out of there!
Good lord, Micro.blog has been crawling for the past few days. Anything I do just results in a progress bar to nowhere. Maybe I'm being throttled for daring to criticize the use of AI.
@binarydigit sweet! that makes me feel better for not being so lost 😅 after thinking about it and looking at a few other public APIs I think the only thing that might persuade me to use another is if any of them offer image alt text fields
@binarydigit Sorry for the density on this response, I understand now that you want to know the API I was using and I just stuck with microlink as it was the default in the examples; it isn't giving me alt text for the image even after I added meta tags with alt text, I checked their docs and it isn't an offered field 👎 however, I'm not sure I understand what you mean about using a CDN and I'm curious...
@binarydigit this isn't my web component, see link in thread to author, I'm just using it
@binarydigit this component is particularly useful with my echos (where these are coming from)
omg am I just realizing I can't use container queries on a custom element?
or I've probably typed something wrong...
I styled up this little web component with some goodies: container queries, aspect-ratio, object-fit, and flex box.
yep that appears to be the case, I'd love some links if anybody has them!
fixed by adding an interior `<div>` and I hate it
Here is the "final" component styled: https://micro.anniegreens.lol/2024/04/10/my-grandmothers-recipe.html
These are looking pretty gorgeous IMO
