@ChrisMayLA6@urlyman@epistatacadam it would also be useful to be able to liquidate properties in long-term probate. When you have a semi that hasn't been maintained for ten years it can become a problem due to vandalism, infestation, deterioration etc.
@ChrisMayLA6@urlyman@epistatacadam most vacant property is in probate or owned by people in long-term care. A mechanism for dealing with the remainder would be useful however there is already an empty homes premium in the Council Tax system. (UK)
This is Boston Station in Lincolnshire. It serves a port town of 45k in eastern England and tells you all you need to know about UK policy over the last 50 years. There's nothing modern here, just endless empty spaces where things have been stripped away and not replaced. The new government needs to start loving places like this even though it voted the other way. The rot needs to stop and quickly.
@ChrisMayLA6@sjwrenlewis like most parties they take their lead from their members and the more right wing they go, the less likely moderate voices are to join. It's a self-perpetuating death-spiral.
I'm very excited that my garden has produced a Common Spotted Orchid this year in addition to the more usual Bee Orchids. I love these beautiful, exquisite little plants. No mow May brings such wonderful rewards!
I don't agree with the PCC role and think it should be abolished. I don't go for directly elected strong men (they're usually men) at all. However, if I'm sent a voting slip I'll always use it. Always #vote.
Only one snag (so far) is the loss of more wall space than expected for radiators. In a house with lots of books that's tricky, and we need to relocate the piano. It's going to take some thought.
I emptied all my water butts on Sunday, and today I'm having to empty them again. I've never before had to empty my water butts every few days like I have this Autumn. The rain is torrential and almost constant. Eastern England is supposed to be dry! Increasingly the drainage can't cope and there's standing water everywhere.
@george_morgan yes. I was trying to be positive about the addiction side of it. I think I've weaned myself away and I end up going back. Not helped by having to run an organisational account as well :(
@janrosenow they really are getting a bit tiresome. I see one of these articles practically every day rubbishing EVs and some of them are quite laughable.
Lots of people are buying EVs and lots, like me, will never consider going back to IC as the EV is so much better.
Another poor show with Devon park and ride. Salcombe this time. Instead of dropping off in the town centre as in previous years, it dropped off by the main car park (?). This left a long walk into the town centre through narrow, cobbled streets. Too much for mum. No shopping for me and no money spent in Salcombe this year. A very poor show. #visitorsnotwelcome#salcombe
