@soatok Is there any smart phone out there that isn’t android/apple? I would love to have a open source Linux based phone, but every damn thing in the devices are proprietary

@notthatdelta @soatok “But if we offer testing, it will make it seem like we’re encouraging that behavior!”, rather than accepting human nature and trying to make sure that what will happen is done at least in a more safe fashion

@soatok Am I correct in thinking that a Merkle tree is some what analogous to a block chain? I don’t know a lot about cryptography, but from what I picked up about crypto currency over the years is the block chain is what keeps everyone honest, by providing a method where everyone who was so inclined, could audit the chain and verify the transactions. Sounds similar but using the public keys rather than an crypto coin amount

@soatok It’s amazing to me how many people think email is secure, with or without the S/Mime extension. Even people who should know better (HR, finance, etc).
I continually have to tell people that email is like a postcard sent through postal service. Anyone who has access to it can read it. “Would you feel comfortable sending a postcard with your credit card information plainly written on it?”

@shantini It’d be bad enough if it was just lgbtqia people, but this decision, along with the “colorblind” college admissions, really takes us back to the 1950s. Any place can exclude any group for whatever reason. No Jews allowed, no Irish allowed, no blacks allowed, etc. As long as it meets some nebulous standard of “against my beliefs”. Discrimination is legally back.
