crap I posted this to the instance where I'm supposed to act like a normal person instead of the one where I somewhat act like a doomer

I'm too good at impressing adults, and then too good at being useless, driveless, and unmotivated -

One thing I don't like about arch is that I feel as though I am constantly on a ticking time bomb that only gets worse as time goes on, as I install more things and my system gets more complex
I should give nixos another try especially since it's gained in popularity and now popular packages should get updated quickly enough -

So I bought a Codecademy subscription a while ago and have been trying to follow a Python course, but I'm really demotivated because I have no end goal, don't see where I'm going with it, and it's just... boring
So I was thinking-- would learning JS or taking a web development course instead be more motivating since I could directly put what I learn to use on my GitHub page (https://merulox.github.io)? Or should I just discipline myself and keep going with that Python course (the learning I've done so far is negligible, I spent maybe 4-5 hours on it at best) -

So, were I to run a Fediverse instance on my own personal computer, would other instances that have annexed me still be able to see my posts even when the instance is down (that is to say when I shut my computer down)? Or would I need to keep my computer running at all times?
Also, approximately how many resources would running an instance where I'm the only registered user require?
I don't have a dedicated computer that I could turn into a server, so turning my own personal computer into one seems like the most convenient solution, but I just don't know if it'd work well.
Thank you for your time!In conversation from blob.cat permalink
