So, were I to run a Fediverse instance on my own personal computer, would other instances that have annexed me still be able to see my posts even when the instance is down (that is to say when I shut my computer down)? Or would I need to keep my computer running at all times?
Also, approximately how many resources would running an instance where I'm the only registered user require?
I don't have a dedicated computer that I could turn into a server, so turning my own personal computer into one seems like the most convenient solution, but I just don't know if it'd work well.
Thank you for your time!

@merulox assuming you have a domain, setup your network properly then

yes, because every follower instance will fetch the post, however its not the same with media, because certain software does not save media, it only caches them.
But every instance which doesnt have your post, cant fetch it until you are online again.

It depends on how many people you follow and how many follower you have... Theoretically Pleroma should work on a Raspberry Pi, however when the admin of mstdn.social repost a picture you posted, your server will have a hard time.
But let me tell you something very different: Setting up your own Server when you follow a small number of people is a bad idea. Its harder to find people to follow like that, its easier when you start on a bigger instance and then move away somewhen

@Jain @merulox
Until you're following at least 150 people, I wouldn't spin off onto your own instance.
