So the android app I use to access Pixelfed is called #Pixelix - it seems to work more consistently than the official app, at least for me.

They've just announced support for another federated photography based service called #vernissage which I hadn't heard of - but looks possibly more geared towards photographers than pixelfed is, with support for things like EXIF, HDR etc which I would find useful.

Has anyone I know tried or used Vernissage yet? Any feedback?

The #faircamp #webring was created back in October 2023, almost as a joke.

Where do folks get small-run custom shaped die-cut stickers from in the UK?

There seem to be hundreds of sites with "sticker" in the domain name so no shortage of options, just wondering if someone had a good or bad experience with any of them?

I have just made a find, buried in a random box of old CD-Rs in our back room.. sometime in 1998 I backed up my old website.. and it had RealAudio media files of some music I made at the time, on Korg M1 and Roland R5!!!

I thought this stuff was lost forever.. there seems to be around 6 tracks on there.

Now, they're in RealAudio, but VLC seems to be able to play them.

Amusingly, the drums are all mixed too loud, at least on the first one I tried - nothing changes, it seems!

It's Friday - at least it is where I am - so it must be #FediPuzzles time!

I just downloaded the 1977 episode to rewatch that Egyptian Reggae track with Legs & Co in a camel costume with a dancing snake. My other half didn't quite believe me when I described it!

Did anyone notice the camel was wearing a fez?!

@steter it's unlikely to be the base_url setting that's causing you issues, that's only used for RSS and embeds as far as I know.

I haven't used the preview server built into Faircamp.. I usually use --no-clean-urls and just open the .faircamp_build/index.html file in a browser locally. I run faircamp on a local machine to build the site then use rsync to publish to my server.

It's pretty good at showing you build errors with helpful information - are your builds successful?

So my first evil genius robot honeypot, the word frequency one, seems to be getting hit by a distributed botnet.

It started around 2-3 requests per second but seems to be ramping up.

It's using IP addresses from all over the world - could be hacked personal devices? - and a wide range of plausible-looking User Agent strings.

My server is fine for now - 95% idle CPU.

Are there people for whom any of the IP or agent data might be useful? Botnet detectorists?
