I recently saw a highly accomplished woman I know demonstrating a new AI product that, of course, has a female name.

When the product launch was shared on LinkedIn, the C-level men didn't share the name of the woman doing the demo, in spite of her being in all the photos, just the name of the AI.

I'm still mad.

I'm not quite old or domesticated enough to have a place where spare buttons are kept, but I'm getting close.

One of my favorite stories is how a keylogger was installed on IBM Selectric typewriters for successful Russian espionage against the US.

I've been thinking a lot lately about why I like trains so much, and the cliché related to neurodiversity, and for me I've come up with:

1. I don't like driving
2. Trains are predictable (mostly, there's a schedule!)
3. I get to read, or daydream, or listen to podcasts, then I arrive, it's like time travel!
4. The rumble feels nice
5. I am on for a while, so I get curious about them, and that's fun for me
6. It can be solitary

She was an absolute legend in computing, and led an inspiring, authentic life.
