I've finished reading The Jakarta Method and it's a good read to follow up having just recently read Blackshirts and Reds. Blackshirts and Reds was about the fall of the Second World, whereas this was the same story but centered around the Third World, it's about the killing of the dream associated with that phrase. Third not to mean third rate, but Third sequentially, having learned from both before.

the lesson taken away by nearly every survivor of the slaughter of these movements is basically that the guerrillas and hardliners were right--the West will never accept even a mild leftist government and will always try to crush it with terror, be it through well funded paramilitaries or militaries or direct intervention. The western mode of control when push comes to shove isn't just lies and rewriting history, it's killings fueled by those lies. Dissapearings, or even killing whole villages wholesale. At this specific historical juncture I can't help but be reminded of the anti-colonial struggle of survival which Palestine and Lebanon are engaged in. The rhetorical leaps to justify mass killings are all there, they're all the same, and as it gets more extreme and less apologetic and media becomes more censored and consolidated... The violence of this system, the mass killing machine called US empire has not stopped, not even slowed since "winning" the cold war.

dedollarize, decolonize

the SWIFT system and international banks such as IMF and World Bank are distinctly US institutions, designed over 100 years ago for the benefit of the western powers when they all still had control over much of the world. these institutions, which are necessary pillars of neocolonialism, must be made obsolete. The US maintains sanctions on a third of all countries on Earth, sanctions which only have the power to freeze assets and halt dealings only while these institutions remain the only way.

The US and EU have raised interest rates, shooting their own economies in the foot, but by doing this they massively increase the value of their own currencies against global south currencies, making it even harder to pay off their debts or to raise interest rates themselves and destroy their own economies in the process. This is the flow of money and development away from the poorest counties, to the richest.

Dedollarizing isn't just passing the torch from one imperial power to another, this is about establishing indigenous banks and development funds, this is about uplifting the Global South and ending the flow of unequal trade to the imperial core, flat out. This is a community of nations which have been shown a different path for development rather than the austerity and western multinational dominance prescribed upon them by the IMF. This is really exciting stuff.

Direct transfers between national central banks without need of the dollar frees so much of the world from imperial puppet strings. Over half of all poor countries are sanctioned by the US, this will begin to provide a remedy.

Imagine now, an end to US empire in our lifetimes...

Jill Stein rocks, her courage to stand up for human rights in Palestine, her proposed social programs, frankly the entire agenda is awesome. She's an anti genocide candidate who understands the danger of the West's proxy war in Ukraine and she's on the ballot directly in enough states to theoretically win the electoral college. The point remains even if our votes cannot win the presidency: We cannot under any circumstances let the Democrats go unpunished for their unrepentant support for genocide. If we do not take a stand against genocide then there is no violence elsewhere that cannot reach us here. Where is the red line, if not genocide? We cannot normalize this, we cannot consent to this. We are already complicit enough in the ongoing murder of 2 million+ human beings, our brothers and sisters, through our taxes and our continued lack of open revolt. If Trump is elected the violence will continue at much the same rate as it has and the Democrats will have been dealt an important lesson: No pro genocide candidate can ever, EVER be allowed to run.

Our organization, our protest, our cause, our very humanity is at stake. We demand a total arms and "aid" embargo upon the zionist entity. To settle for less is a betrayal of humanity, an embrace of barbarity.

I want historic numbers for the Green party and PSL. I want the establishment to realize that they cannot drag us to the abyss with them. We can endure 4 years of hardship if it means we have lit the idea of change, revolution in our lifetimes. Capitalism is on the way out, we all know this. We must begin to build the parties and movements ready to seize upon the actual popular will of the people.
