Fusion will not save us. technology alone will not save us. the line sold to you by technocrats is a pyramid scheme of billionaires and speculators. technology can be made to work for the people if the people are put over profit in primacy, as China has undeniably demonstrated, and many peoples across time have already achieved. A sustainable and caring system is possible but it will require a total restructuring of the economy, with or without fusion power.
