"If they [convo improvement features] prove successful, we’ll be bringing them to the experience on the web as well."
As a middling new presence, I'm hoping the data supports keeping the first feature (Reply thoughtfully) but not the second (Hey, you're replying to an older post).
I was reminded once not to tag you into a thread, which was annoying but valid. But if I'm replying to an old post, its because I deliberately dug it up. So I don't need that extra step.
@publicdomainrev This post reminds me that #Paleofuture was one of my favorite hashtags EVER, on several media including blogs and Google+. (Yes, it's been a while.)
@Adam_Cadmon1 What I'm seeing & hearing (US) is that it translates to fear at local level. Local pro-Palestinian marches, posters & flyers, etc. put them in immediate fear of their personal safety. They have never had this vocal & visible challenge from large numbers. They may also feel betrayed by media and friends saying Israel/Netanyahu are wrong on flattening Gaza.
I don't argue that they aren't feeling the emotions. I believe them. I doubt that folks I know will publicly condemn Netanyahu.
@dajb@dnorman On a broader note, Doug, your social dot coop peers who commented on this gave me some other trails to follow—kind of like the "old days" of social media sharing. Not that I should be surprised.
One led to an article on MSG, and another led to a transcript on Superintelligence. Both were fine rabbit holes (in the early sense of fascinating deeper dives, before the paranoiac kind of rabbit hole we worry about nowadays).
Tested the waters in 2016... returned in April 2022 with one or two other people. The avatar is an Earth Day photo from a few years ago on my campus. Header image is lifted from my Twitter cover photo. I'm not as gone from Twitter as I'd like. Active on Bluesky too, @ harmonygritz.bsky.social. You'll find my longtime "rainbow" profile image there.
