Reporting on the #Filton6 re-trial

An order issued by the Court of Appeal on 10 April reads

“There shall be a reporting restriction order pursuant to section 4(2) of the Contempt of Court Act 1981 in respect of this appeal in identical terms to that contained in the order of Lord Justice Edis, prohibiting any reporting of these proceedings until the retrial in R v Charlotte Head and others in the Crown Court at Woolwich has concluded,” Lord Justice Bean."

In April 24, Trudi Warner, a retired social worker, stood outside Inner London Crown Court holding a sign that read:
"Jurors, you have an absolute right to acquit a defendant according to your conscience"

She was arrested for "intimidation of a jury" but at trial Mr. Justice Saini ruled in her favour, saying she was only stating the law outside a courthouse, and that can not be illegal

She was arrested again last week for doing exactly the same thing as were many others

Apparently the jury at the #Filton6 re-trial have been asking 'awkward questions' about evidence they have been presented with such as the number of security guards present; who was operating tbe CCTV footage; why are there apparent gaps in the recordings they have been shown; and why had the court refused to include a certain security manager from giving evidence

This looks bad for the g'ment who have asked for this retrial

Last Wednesday, Sam Corner gave evidence at Woolwich Crown Court as he was asked by his barrister why he had struck PC Evans with a sledgehammer. He relied upon the defence of having being pepper sprayed and hearing his friend's voice call out in distress he struck out oblivious to the damage he may have done. Throughout Sam's autism seems to have disconnected his action, and his barrister highlights this point. Indeed he became unwell and proceedings had to be delayed until next Thursday
