Learnt something strange about Python today. If you have

def function 1
def function 2
def function 3
def function 4
}

.. for example, function 3 becomes a global function not a member of the class. In other words, functions have to be aligned horizontally as well as vertically?! That's nuts.

The other thing I discovered is that you can repeat the exact same function definition twice and the interpreter never complains. Slightly less nuts but still very 🧐

@botvolution that's great. I was listening to Cosmic Ground yesterday and pondering how it is that my favourite sorts of music tend to come from the parts of the world where you get snowed in a lot, but I've never seen snow (except for that one time in Antwerp) because I live in Australia.

Can I talk about #git for a second? Why, in the name of all that is good and holy, does it not have a username option on the CLI so you can push to different repos with different accounts. I created a new account for a project on GitHub but can’t push anything because it won’t stop trying to use the other credentials. I’ve tried everything the internet suggested too, nothing seems to work. Help me oh fediverse?

My bro in law is a guitarist and putting together a wicked pedal board of loopers and delays and wotnot. He’s asked me if there’s a real cheap #synth with arpeggiator he could get to add in the mix. I thought maybe something from the Korg Volca range but so far Behringer JT4000 seems the best contender. Does anyone know of any others in that space? The arpeggiation is the thing, he wants it to loop stuff he can play along to. Under $100 ideally.

@botvolution I still watch way more broadcast TV than streaming. I get options paralysis the minute I open Netflix. Having only a handful of broadcast channels with only a small selection of interesting shows on certain nights of the week .. makes life a lot simpler. You either watch what's on or you find something else to do.
