Both the NHL & NBA are reinventing their All-Star weekends. I find that the best All-Star games are those with stories attached to them. Kobe Bryant's last ASG is one that comes to mind. There is gravity towards the event.
ASGs need to stop being one-off weekends & more like Wrestlemanias. The sport is fun to watch but folks are drawn into stories. Celebrate the athletes & their ambitions. Elevate teams as they head to the post-season.
Honestly, if I looked at the #NintendoSwitch2 from an iPhone perspective, the Switch 2 from a Switch 1 is like iPhone 16 -> iPhone 16 Pro Max upgrade. Same class device but an expensive spec bump upgrade from the device I already own + Pro features.
I love #Nintendo. I really do. I wouldn't have got into video games if not for them.
If you ask me, Nintendo painted themselves in a corner by being very radio silent in 2024 with regards to the next-gen Switch. We were all anticipating a Direct, there were some but dashed hopes as Nintendo announced a Museum & a music streaming app in 2024. #TheGameAwards came and went and Nintendo did not capitalize on the hype in the tail end of last year, heading into 2025.
As a fan, I'm just frustrated as to why Nintendo squandered 2024. All this reminds me of when Apple did damage control because someone left an iPhone 4 prototype at a bar.
I bought this on a whim and on my first night wearing it to bed, I slept like a baby. If you like being in a blanket burrito, get yourself an Oodie! This is a cheat code for cozy, a blanket poncho if you will.
Hot take: I know LeBron has one foot towards retirement from the sport (and perhaps an NTC [no trade clause]) but #Lakers need to trade him to get a headstart on rebuilding their roster.
Dealing out the less impactful players on their roster are tiny steps forward, five steps back from their goals of championship contendership.
The Lakers are getting crappier by the season the longer they keep LeBron/AD. At most, their roster is play-in tournament ready. I doubt they'll steam roll the bracket just as the Miami Heat did a few seasons ago.
Maybe get Jimmy Butler in there? Jimmy is always hungry for a championship run.
I found it odd that the NFL aired some games on Christmas Day. Christmas is synonymous with basketball just as New Years Day is to hockey. NFL has February.
The NBA has a ratings issue & Netflix + NFL isn’t helping. Beyoncé’s halftime show was all the talk last night.
