It’s been two years of nonstop Republican antics on Oversight.
However, I’m grateful to have
Rep Summer Lee and Rep Jasmine Crockett to keep it 100 with me, defend diversity, and speak the truth.

#OnThisDay in 1960, six-year-old Ruby Bridges made history as the first African American student to integrate an all-white elementary school in the South, attending William Frantz Elementary in New Orleans.
That entire year, Ruby was taught by a single dedicated teacher, in a classroom all her own.
Her courage has changed our nation's story.
Today I was proud to present Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority with a $10.6 million dollar check recognizing their new federal grant for electric buses thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. My office also supported this grant with a letter of support. Another win for NE Ohio.
Trees help lower temperatures, absorb CO2, mitigate water and noise pollution, and contribute to healthier neighborhoods. But too many urban neighborhoods don’t have the tree cover they need. I was proud to vote for the Inflation Reduction Act, which is funding local tree planting in Cleveland.
"Freedom is not a state; it is an act. It is not some enchanted garden perched high on a distant plateau where we can finally sit down and rest. Freedom is the continuous action we all must take, and each generation must do its part to create an even more fair, more just society." - John Lewis
Four years ago today we lost an icon. Let's honor the legacy of John Lewis by continuing the work that must be done.
Wow. Senate Republicans voted today against The Right to Contraception Act, legislation I cosponsor in the House. It’s like Maya Angelou said, “when people show you who they are, believe them.” There is an extreme MAGA agenda that is putting our rights at risk.
On Memorial Day, let’s remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

This week, the FTC issued a ban on non-compete clauses, an unfair practice that has been used to limit worker mobility and suppress wages.
Banning non-competes is a win for Ohio workers and working people nationwide.
Today I spoke out on the need to extend the Affordable Connectivity Program with my New Dem Coalition colleagues. Over 135,000 households in #OH11 are enrolled in the ACP – which is closing the #digitaldivide.
We can’t cut the cord on their connection.

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is once again delivering for Ohio. https://www.cleveland19.com/2024/02/22/ohio-getting-210-million-water-infrastructure-upgrades/
Just weeks after Kate Cox was denied abortion care in Texas, the 5th Circuit Court ruling now allows emergency rooms to deny women abortion care, even when their lives are at stake.
My Democratic Women's Caucus colleagues and I are fighting back against this cruelty.
Pardoning those convicted of unnecessarily harsh marijuana charges is the right thing to do. Historically, these kinds of convictions have been applied disproportionally to people of color. I applaud President Biden for taking action. Now it's time for Republicans in Congress to stop blocking the comprehensive reforms we need. https://apnews.com/article/biden-marijuana-pardons-clemency-02abde991a05ff7dfa29bfc3c74e9d64
Delighted to host U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Becerra & Rep. Emilia Strong Sykes in #OH11 to highlight Cleveland Metropolitan School District + MetroHealth's innovative partnership connecting students with health care careers.
Equitable workforce development means good jobs and a healthier future for all.
The Supreme Court ruling on affirmative action is a disaster for underserved communities, including the Black and Brown kids I represent, denying many a fair chance.
Pretending racism hasn’t shaped America for 500 years just deepens inequities.
I won’t stop fighting for justice and equal opportunities.
Mifepristone has been safely used for decades.
In fact, it’s safer than Tylenol.
Right now, #Mifepristone is still accessible for those who need access to care, and House Democrats are fighting to fully restore accessibility—and keep it that way.
Proudly serving the people of Ohio's Eleventh Congressional District.
