🚨 Methane (CH₄; potent greenhouse gas) reached a preliminary new record high value in September 2023 (1927.4 ppb).

September 2022's global methane abundance was 1915.4 ppb.

🚨Obviously, last month was the hottest September on record globally.

I won't try to outdo others for coming up with words to describe this new record. It was a historic month, and you've never experienced a year like it before...

Oh look, another absurd climate graph from this summer - sea surface temperature anomalies in the North Atlantic for every August since 1854... 🥴

Last month's temperatures across the Northern Hemisphere were not even close to the previous record.

With ice growth remaining slow, the record #Antarctic sea ice anomaly (negative departure from average) continues to somehow get larger in size...

? I have yet another record to share with you - carbon dioxide (CO₂) averaged a record high of 421 ppm in March 2023

10 years ago March averaged about 398 ppm
