@mattly I have been meaning to revisit Discworld. I've only read a few. I'll add those to my books short list.

@mattly I've had several conversations lately where I have had to remind people - who I mostly thought would know better - that there's no "intelligence" happening here.

No matter how impressed you are by the results, it's just a good pattern matching engine. No synthesis of "thought" is happening. I don't know why this seems so hard to grasp.

"Man. I really don't like modern macOS, maybe I can get by on a Linux laptop and I can do a few extra things on my Windows gaming tower."

If you know enough (or think you know enough) to not like that recommendation, you don't need my opinion.

Corollary: Like video games? Buy a playstation or an xbox. Like PC games? See previous about knowing enough to not need my input.
