What level of nerd am I that I enjoy CAD so much atm that I do challenges for fun and practice (and lack of personal projects)

I am somewhat audio sensitive and I've just paid a premium amount to have a router/gateway/wifi device which is fanless but still more capable than my current device - which in the summer months has a very annoying small fan that constantly switches on and off.

I won't name the device but let's just say the amount of UniFi products that fit the description is limited.

I've been using a cutting mat as temporary mousepad (because of reasons) and also used that as a coaster for hot beverages. Then I thought: «Wouldn't it be neat to have cutting mat coasters?»

I drilled through the Internet and found someone (sadly in US) who makes exactly that. Can I resist? Can I? This is so unnecessary … if only Modulor would sell these …

I have tried several measuring tapes from well known brands but all of them have a fatal flaw: You need to engage the brake manually to prevent the tape from getting pulled back in.

I really don't understand how this is the accepted default? My favorite measuring tape is not fancy at all but on this one you have to press a button to release the auto brake ie. tape stays pulled out. It's cheap as well.

At least give me the choice / a selector for auto brake on/off. Let me know if you know one

Taskmaster is not only my favorite show, over the years it got a massive audience. Firstly because they've decided to put all episodes of all series for free on Youtube to allow it to grow naturally and secondly they made it naturally inclusive and a comfort watch for many different groups of people which in turn became very passionate fans. There are even troves of romantic and erotic fan fiction :)

Croatia is beautiful and good for sailing. We have surprisingly good winds but it is true that it is quite expensive. Marinas, buoys and adjacent shops. Just very pretty and full of germans :) The latter is a minimal issue thanks to #thatboatlife

I’m looking for a kitchen scale that I can also use to weigh packages with - ideally up to 10Kg with reasonable precision. If that does not exist I'm ok with with up to 5Kg range.

Any recommendations. Preferred options are the ones that are built to last and have digital readout if they have a decent precision. Otherwise analog readout is is ok as well.

TIL: CAT 7 isn't an official cable category but rather a shortcut if you don't want to bother memorizing the differences between 6 and 6a and always want to go for the better option - in terms of insulation and speed / frequency.

TIL: The Fallout TV show, which I've enjoyed a lot, was actually shot on film. Makes me appreciate the effort that went into the first season even more.

If I could change one thing about Postfix it would be clear guidance on what options / restrictions to use to secure your mailserver. Be it through sane and restrictive defaults that you have to deliberately enable or better documentation or even maybe a guidance document.

The documentation is such a messy maze.
