Haha, trying out advanced workflow for YouTube Shorts using Insta360 studio and DaVinci resolve on my Mac, and either:
1. Exported video isn't playable on Android and YT app doesn't recognise it as video (but plays fine on Mac) 2. Uploading from YT studio web app doesn't mark it as a Shorts video 3. Uploading via DaVinci doesn't mark it as Shorts video
It appears that using Tailscale to send files between devices is broken, the unrecognised files are 0 bytes in size 🤦♂️ used to work flawlessly before.
I'm learning not to trust software updates because they break functionality more often than fix issues these days. Insta360 and Tailscale have both been a disappointment recently.
Really wish I had FreeBSD, ZFS and Boot Environments on all devices - incompetent/malicious software updates would have been a non issue in face of a full system rollback 😅
I'm a nerd with 25+ yrs of working with cursed sand, my mother is someone who asks either of her sons to help with tech difficulties.
After an hour of struggling, I expressed my frustration and the problem to her. She patiently listened to me and suggested taking the rendered video from DaVinci Resolve on Mac that wasn't recognised by YouTube app on Android, run it through my video editor on iPad (LumaFusion) and then transfer it to Android and try again.
Protip for people with absurd number of cats who share your bed: drop some kibble in the bowl just before you go to bed. Usually makes enough space to get under the blanket. If that fails, brush the cats still on bed and they're more amenable to being gently lifted and moved like tetris pieces to defragment the space.
Want to write some code that's been brewing in my head, but also want to harvest dried banana leaves before heavy rains drench them again (for attempting to grow oyster mushrooms later).
had to rush my father to ER ~15 years ago because of similar symptoms, he was speaking and looking okay, but turned out he was having a heart attack and only survived because we reached the ER in time. It's good to take this seriously first and then laugh how it was nothing than the alternative.
(Many moons ago, I had a python interpreter hooked into my mailbox on a *nix server - was fun to send an SMS from a dumb phone, which would be forwarded via an email gateway and receive the output back as SMS in seconds)
I love #FreeBSD, have used it since early 2000s and see myself relying on its Power to Serve for the next two decades.
However, I've been itching to have a mobile/web GUI to manage my several FreeBSD servers as running servers is no longer my day job.
I also want to showcase and share all the good things, with anyone curious about this OS, that make me choose it over alternatives. Especially beginners who have no prior exposure to the Unix environment and cli.
Moments like this, I miss being able to comfortably type with one hand on mobile devices: cats cuddled between torso and arms, can't get hands close enough to type. This is beyond even first world problems 😂
Tangent: these large screen devices with glass keyboards, no bezel and slippery backs seem like they're designed to fall and break often. Would not be surprised if that was the actual design brief coming down from representatives of shareholders.
