Loudspeakers already on at 4:57 am.
Fellow humans continue to be a disappointment, kinda proud of our species for at least being consistent with one thing.

@morph *nods* humidity here is between 85% and fully saturated on most days 😅
And, yum!

Last few days it did not rain, the tomatoes loved that!
I've lost all my tomatoes so far to blight as the spores get kicked up to underside of leaves along with soil by frequent rains, and soon the whole plant wilts.
This season I've been trimming lower leaves, applying homemade curd on the cuts when trimming in wet weeks and spraying whey on young fruits. The plants have come further than previous tries.
@morph yep, that would've been my last step on this planet 😆
@morph 😅 have I mentioned the resident Russell's viper yet? Almost stepped on it once.
Stuff I find under rocks in the veggie garden 😅
Ghee chillies! These are a variant of Bhut Jolokia and have a flavour of ghee along with heat that kicks in half a minute after consuming. The plant has over a hundred and has no plans to slow down - just as many buds and flowers on edges of the canopy.
The plant is ~3m tall, limited by the polytunnel's height. I need to use a hook to grab chillies far up!
Golden hour
Over the next 40 minutes on the way back home…
And now marinating in the dense waves of fragrance of brugmansia flowers while watching fireflies flit by.
(Photo taken earlier in the day by mother)
I have a question for whoever can direct me closer to an answer:
Brugmansia flowers seem to emit fragrance in waves - if you stand downwind in the same spot, the fragrance fades and intensifies every few minutes.
Why? My casual hypothesis is that might help pollinators target better. Is that even a thing?
Curious.
(Tried searching, found nothing relevant)
Haha, trying out advanced workflow for YouTube Shorts using Insta360 studio and DaVinci resolve on my Mac, and either:
1. Exported video isn't playable on Android and YT app doesn't recognise it as video (but plays fine on Mac)
2. Uploading from YT studio web app doesn't mark it as a Shorts video
3. Uploading via DaVinci doesn't mark it as Shorts video
How do people do this? 👀
It appears that using Tailscale to send files between devices is broken, the unrecognised files are 0 bytes in size 🤦♂️ used to work flawlessly before.
I'm learning not to trust software updates because they break functionality more often than fix issues these days. Insta360 and Tailscale have both been a disappointment recently.
Insta360's latest update gets GPS data all wrong.

I'm standing still while the speedometer keeps going up? What?
Really wish I had FreeBSD, ZFS and Boot Environments on all devices - incompetent/malicious software updates would have been a non issue in face of a full system rollback 😅
I'm a nerd with 25+ yrs of working with cursed sand, my mother is someone who asks either of her sons to help with tech difficulties.
After an hour of struggling, I expressed my frustration and the problem to her. She patiently listened to me and suggested taking the rendered video from DaVinci Resolve on Mac that wasn't recognised by YouTube app on Android, run it through my video editor on iPad (LumaFusion) and then transfer it to Android and try again.
It worked! 🤯
How it started / How it's going
