In an awful situation, bridge protests are fun as well as useful. It doesn't take many people to drop a banner and wave. Grab a few friends and take over a bridge! In many places, small events like that don't even need an event permit.

Americans have had 250 years of VERY uneven democracy, but democracy. We are not going to tolerate a fascist police state. Stephen Miller's wet dream is shared by very few in this country, as we have seen with MAGAs crying "This isn't what we voted for."

I don't know how ugly this gets, but I do know Americans are not going to put up with what we saw in LA nationwide.

That said, this is why I 100% supported Rep Thanedar's Articles of Impeachment.

THIS is why Rep. Al Green (God bless him) said "You don't want to wait until tanks are rolling down the streets of American cities."

Tump's stupid parade is a preview of the reality the fascists want. People like Rep Green, AOC, and others on the Good List will just look wiser with time, whatever happens.

Trump is so crass and so obviously evil that he is purely a test of character. This is not an IQ test. This is not an education test. Everybody responds to him according to what they truly value: if what you most value is other people's survival and dignity, you cannot respond to him with anything other than boiling rage.

This is what defending the US Constitution looks like: a man filming #ICE criminals, calling out their lies, and yelling things like "Don't come out of your house!" in Spanish to residents of the apartment complex.

This kind of criminal ICE activity is not law enforcement and it should not be treated as such.

Another form of action that's also very helpful: you can order "red cards" that have Constitutional rights written in various languages. You can also just download and print paper versions of this. Either way, you can just hand these out to people in businesses. I do. I can tell you, nobody is insulted. They seem to really appreciate that people care.

BTW this is an example of the kind of thing you learn going to protests. Especially if you're in a big city, there will be people handing out materials and even booths for various antifascist groups.

Prior to this I was putting up paper flyers. Those weren't worthless, but many of them got taken down. The ones I put on derelict building stayed up the longest, but I figured just handing stuff to people probably spreads info better. Plus folks can have these in their wallets.
