@cstross He's projecting so hard on that one. He can't understand doing anything for the greater good so obviously Biden must have been manipulated and is regretting it.

Jer (jer@chirp.enworld.org)'s status on Monday, 29-Jul-2024 23:23:34 JST Jer @graydon @Di4na @cstross It's farther than that. It's that the accumulation of wealth is their god. It isn't that the wealth is a sign of favor like prosperity gospel Christians - they are as devoted to the accumulation of wealth as a 90 year old grandmother praying rosaries in church is to Jesus. Many even think their wealth will bring them immortality.
Lovecraftian cults have nothing on billionaires worship of wealth acquisition. They would sacrifice the planet for their god.

Jer (jer@chirp.enworld.org)'s status on Saturday, 10-Feb-2024 06:31:37 JST Jer @GossiTheDog Is this a legacy box or a recent purchase?
Some of that stuff was already out of date when Juniper sold off Funk and it became Pulse Secure. That was ten years ago. If that's a recent box and not some legacy hardware I'd be considering it security malpractice to sell something like that as "new". (and I mean it's still not great if it's a ten year old box that they're not really patching either)

(Thanks for being on top of this - honestly when I saw the story I wondered what toothbrush company was putting wifi into their toothbrushes instead of bluetooth. And why would they do that? Should have realized it was nonsense.)
