Well, the majority of my survey respondents so far have answered that they'd never be willing to use an age verification service.
This might be the thing that kills my small business.

Sex work politics is often sidelined as if it wasn't serious, but the war on porn functions at the frontlines of state violence. In her new book Zahra Stardust shows how indie porn makers creatively resist criminalisation and censorship, regulations undermining autonomy and safety, and exploitative labour extraction, and how the lessons and skills we've learned doing so will be very useful in the resistance to come.

Me and my psychedelic coat are on our way to London for noodles and hangouts with porn & SW friends. Going to the book launch of my amazing combabe Zahra Stardust!

Two reasons #Patreon flagging my academic writing as "sexually gratifying" is annoying:
1. it means I can't keep the post public, which limits my reach for the advocacy and educational work I'm trying to do
2. having a flag on my account significantly reduces my chances of getting my page recategorised as 'safe for all audiences', which I do want: journalistic, political & educational writing is NOT porn, and being marked as porn hides my page from search and makes it harder to find.
@girlonthenet Oh noooooo, you too huh? They must have been on a spree lately
The Nordic model's focus on criminalizing clients is misguided. It's time for a new approach that prioritizes safety and decriminalisation.
Is anyone on here able to give me advice about appealing my #YouTube ban? After trying to appeal the deletion of my #kink education channel last Sept and not hearing anything back, I'm now being shown a new web form for submitting an appeal and am minded to try again.
"Over-zealous content policing and financial discrimination against pornography workers can lead to their accounts being banned, loss of income, and financial precarity, pushing them into more heavily criminalised forms of work."
Today is the last day to submit evidence to the government's review of the #pornography industry! The outcome of this review could have a drastic impact on online #sexual services and #SexWorkers in the UK, so if you have any time today, I urge you to respond.
Read the post for a handy Q&A addressing common misconceptions about #porn which you can use in your response or to impress your mates down the pub.

The amazing Sex Workers Union is hosting an online conference tomorrow on why the Online Safety Act needs to protect sexual services. Ofcom have agreed to attend, and to accept the presentations as evidence for their consultation process! Speakers include delegates from the English Collective of Prostitutes, Fairwork & union reps.
Come for a bit or the whole thing to learn how the new law will affect anyone in the UK who posts explicit content online.

If you want to commit an indecently attractive act of solidarity, here's a step-by-step guide to getting in my pants:
Four intense hours prepping for the #porn enquiry meeting with the Baroness who's leading the review, then an hour for the meeting itself. I wrote up bullet points, read legislation, hunted for citations, phoned academics, and navigated various complex social dynamics... Anyway the meeting felt a lot more constructive than I'd feared. I'm so spent I just want to collapse. Which I will do. As soon as kiddo is asleep.
The thing is, it's not over: there are consultations to respond to, union organising to do, and the anti-porn crusaders just keep coming back with the same bullshit misinformation. There's a reason I hopped off this merry-go-round and I'm not sure I want to be dragged back on it. But the work needs doing.
This all happened so quickly on Fri after I got home from a full-on solo parenting week. I haven't caught up on rest yet, never mind my actual job... It's all been so weird & intense.
Things I didn't expect about tonight's #porn event:
- discussing wanky adultery law in ancient Rome
- connecting with a nun with a dazzling smile
- explaining LiveJournal to people born in 2005
- uttering the words "obviously I'm a bimbo who doesn't understand science"
Thank you #Durham Uni for hosting, and especially to all the queer femsoc members who came for a drink afterwards! Gen Z gives me life.
People who have never done #SexWork love to hold opinions about it: and when it informs policy and public opinion, ignorance about our work causes actual sex workers enormous harm.
New public post on my #Patreon:
You’d think, running a studio and a business selling porn that I’d have all the porn I ever want, but when I do want porn all I can find is unlabelled footage I dare not touch and bizarre experiments gone wrong.
MetroBank are holding my monthly payout from Clips4Sale as "suspicious" and saying I need to show evidence to prove it's a legit payment. I've received monthly C4S payments for a decade with no previous issues.
So now I'm stumped: any documentation I could provide would out me as a porn worker, which could lead to the closure of my accounts. But without proof, I might lose the money. Financial discrimination against sex workers is unfair, demoralising, and exhausting.
Just had a clothed #OnlyFans video diary deleted cos I mentioned in passing that I had babysitting and could therefore go to a play party. "Content features an image of, or a reference to, someone whose age is not verified". What a world we live in
Is anyone familiar with #PeerTube? I'm aware of it as an option, but haven't explored it yet. My kink education YouTube channel with thousands of subscribers just got deleted. I'd be looking for a well-established adult instance that already has subscribers, ideally.
