I've been a little absent from Masto for a while and I just noticed that I missed it. Our lovely creative exchanges. I've been in Japan for a couple of weeks and will be here for almost a couple more, and travel does what travel does. Brings magic, but not in the ways I might have expected, but that's how magic works, right? It does what it will.

Every time we get out of the city, we start to look for places to live that are closer to nature. I hope the right place will come along sometime. In the meantime, it feels good to be here.

Excuse the bad pun, but the plants are really growing on me. Here's another accidental propagation. I wanted to buy some rosemary the other day but didn't come across a live plant (was too lazy to go and find one), so I bought a bunch. Had some left over twigs and figured I'll keep them in a glass of water, forgot about them and here they are growing roots. Looking forward to planting this little guy and see if it really grows.

I long to integrate these nature hikes much more into my life. Though I love much of life in the city, much of my work, the urban density, the hours spent at the computer more often seem to have a negative effect on my mood and inner calm. The photos are a good reminder though.

I have very little to say about this. I'm not sure when I last used a semicolon. I think I had been discouraged of doing so in writing, so I guess I didn't bother. I'm curious to read what other people have to say on this one.

At the moment I feel it more strongly than other days: That we are living in a crazy world. Where we find justifications to kill our own planet for a number on a virtual account. Where we find the best way to defend a country is to tolerate letting little children starve. Where we waste our planet's resources on death and war. Where we glorify the consumption of useless crap, rather than connecting with what makes us alive. How is all of this normal? I can't stop thinking about it.

I should do much better when it comes to living in a more environmentally conscious way. I think about the wasting of resources a lot and how we could all do better. But you know, today, I feel like this is some cynical bullshit too. We have corporations shitting on the planet for profit, millionaires taking private jets to get a basket of strawberries and I don't even have a clue about the waste of resources the wars are causing. Can we please effect change on this level first? How?
