1. The Choice is Clear Donald Trump wants to give even more tax breaks to big corporations and the rich while repealing the Affordable Care Act and stripping healthcare from 40 million Americans. MAGA Republicans have a radical plan to ban abortion, limit civil rights, and cut Social Security and Medicare, and they defend Trump’s assault on the Constitution. Joe Biden has a very different plan: strengthen and expand the middle class while defending freedom and democracy. The Biden plan will make billionaires pay their fair share and provide tax credits for ordinary folks, like first-time home buyers. Biden doesn’t just talk about helping working Americans, he delivers. He started by providing $1,400 relief checks, reopening schools, vaccinating the country, and expanding access to affordable health coverage through the American Rescue Plan, which jumpstarted the economy and has brought the uninsured rate to a record low. Biden Democrats followed that up with historic investments in U.S. infrastructure and manufacturing, and they also delivered the Inflation Reduction Act, which has brought down prescription drug prices and made record investments in fighting climate change. Under Joe Biden, we have lower unemployment and lower inflation than when Ronald Reagan bragged about “Morning in America” in 1984. 22 months ago, Ron DeSantis went full MAGA on COVID, banning local precautions, downplaying the risk of a summer surge in Florida (which turned out to be the nation's worst), and heading down a path that led him to hire an anti-vaxxer as the state's Surgeon General.
Before DeSantis went full MAGA on COVID in May 2021, Florida's COVID death rate was close to the national average.
Since then, it's been the nation's 4th highest.
