I've experienced an alarming issue where #Facebook #Messenger now strips the link when I send a contact invitation to my Signal profile through the chat. This means that people I'm trying to connect with off of #Meta platforms are experiencing difficulty and frustration trying to stay in contact with me as I migrate off their platforms and onto Signal.

Y'all do see that the point of 200 executive orders in a single day is just a DDoS on education, news, empathy, and activism, right?

You can't have 200 front page stories.
You can't care about 200 changes at once.
You can't learn about 200 changes at once.
You can't act in opposition to 200 changes at once.

Furthermore, this is crisis manufacturing.

If you're not familiar with Naomi Klein's Shock Doctrine concept, which she articulated through her book by the same name, it would be good to familiarize yourself.

It's a lot easier to take authoritarian control during crisis than in times of stability. A *lot* easier.

*sigh* Stepped into Bluesky just to be *immediately* greeted by an especially obnoxious sea lion.

And so much drama and infighting in my feed that I'm witnessing from the outside.

Is this Bluesky or is this just bad timing, or just me?

OMG, I did the impossible. I got the sea lion to leave.

I could have blocked, but occasionally there's something more satisfying telling them no, you're an aggressive sea lion and I don't owe you explanation. Exhausting. A dozen times telling them as they increased their aggression each time, and they still thought they were "just discussing"

Finally.

Funny thing is they blocked me. They came into my thread, aggressively sealioning, and my response was to call them out on it. Not to answer a single one of their questions.

And it still took like a dozen times.

Wild.

My favorite part was how they tried to teach my dictionary definitions and basic etymology of the word #anarchism. More than once.

And what was the whole reason they were upset?

Because my philosophy of anarchism was not controlling and aggressive enough, and because of this, I somehow erased 150 years of #anarchist organizing and labor movements. With my two part Bluesky shitpost.

But here's the thing, this sea lion had a not insignificant following as someone who exclusively posts on anarchist topics.

I say this as an #anarchist myself:

It's wild how often you run across some anarchists who just want to rule the world.

Along with everyone else, I've been urging #trans people to get documents in order before #inauguration. If you didn't get them all done and you're worried, let me tell you something.

I know there's still technically a few days left, but I didn't get all the paperwork done, either. It's been years and I still have a couple things I just never get around to because it just doesn't affect my daily life. Since the election, it's been a mix of executive function issues and helping *a lot* of other people with theirs, especially the more important documents (like passports. And don't worry, I've got that).

And like, I feel guilty like I should have gotten around to it, but also like, I kind of don't care? Why should I care how someone else defines me, especially when it's so absurd and I have no respect for the authority defining me?

I mean, like. It's not that I want them to stay as they are, I'm just like, why should I care about this piece of paper when I'm so much more concerned with staying alive and happy and free in the face of genocide? What is a piece of paper ultimately going to do for me under authoritarian oppression? I'm going to use *their* documents to appeal to *their* authority for justice? The Master's tools are not going to help me here.

I have my passport with my name and my gender marker (and most other important documents), but even if it was in a deadname and wrong #gender, it would still work.

People will deadname and misgender regardless of documents. They will bar access no matter what the documents say. They will oppress no matter what bureaucratic appeal you make.

I'm not saying documents *don't matter*. You *must* have a passport to travel legally. It matters. But when it comes to what is coming, I think it's important to remember that your name is not what the government says it is, just because they recorded it that way. Your gender is defined by no one but you.

But above all of this, none of what is coming is a fight about bureaucracy. Bureaucracy is just one of the Master's tools and it will not dismantle the structures of oppression. It will not save you.

So, a document or two might out me. So what? I'm openly trans and #queer. I might try to find safety, but I won't hide. I can't hide.

I want to dismantle structural oppression, and those documents are the tiniest representations of that oppression. Documents are not the oppression. Oppression is the oppression. Documents are just tools they use to justify it.
