It's a sticker prep morning ✂️

Wondering what these stickers are exactly? They are interactive NFC stickers! You can scan them with your phone and each time a new and unique generative art piece is created!

Quick question for a generative project:

It all started with tiny steps into #procedural 3D star shapes

In a next step I calculate the flat shape that can be folded into one of the star points

Next: filling the shape with some nice #generative patterns.
Time for a testcut ✂️

Ok, now let's fire up the laser and make a proper cut for a lantern!

Assembling takes a bit of time but is also a lot of fun!

To make the plain anthracite area more interesting, I engraved the beetle's wing pattern in the background. That skyrocketed the cutting time, but it looks so much better!

The beetles themselves are made with a fork of my beetle generator: https://beetles.bleeptrack.de/ but I had to make them stencil-able, so they wouldn't fall apart when cut out. Have to say: the cut files also look really cool!

A few weeks ago I was asked to create 100 unique badges for the @sovtechfund Bug Bounties and FOSS research event. Each one features a one-off a kind beetle on the backside. Production took me several days but it was a lot of fun!

The badges are laser cut out of two sheets of 300g carton paper. While the backside is always anthracite, the front and so also the beetle, feature a lot of different colors.
