    because clients load images. People can DM you with an image and it will know you loaded it. One thing we could do is not load images from non-friends.

    Rust libraries are so good these days I would probably choose it over Haskell in most situations. Before i would say Haskell is better for server stuff but im not sure thats even true anymore

    If people used delegated event signing we could make an app that streams your lastfm status to nostr. So many cool use case for nip26

    In the meantime you have to use this script which is not non-dev friendly. Streaming music statuses from tidal works with this!

    This is a hilariously bad and short sighted generalization of an entire community. There are individuals here who are insanely good at what they do. Just look at doug hoyte and strfry for example. The community will get stronger when more people with specific expertise come on board.

    #Rust is one of the only languages where you can tie the lifetime of an object to another one. This ‘a thing is a lifetime parameter that says “Note must not outlive Transaction”. Which is incredibly useful since in #nostrdb the pointer to the memory-mapped data is only valid as long as the transaction exists. This is enforced at compile time, making data-read-outside-of-transaction crashes impossible.
